Birthday Scroll

Post by pauldmoore » Nov 10, 2013 3:54 pm

My sister will soon be celebrating her 70th birthday, and I wonder if you have a scroll for the occasion. I had in mind Qi Shi Er Zhi Tian Ming ("At seventy I knew the will of Heaven.") from the Analects. Do you have this already? If not, can you do it for me?

You're asking for 七十而知天命 (qi1 shi2 er2 zhi1 tian1 ming4)

But the problem is the original passage is a little different, and much longer:

This means: At fifty, I knew the decrees of Heaven. At sixty, my ear was an obedient organ for the reception of truth. At seventy, I could follow what my heart desired, without transgressing what was right.

Please confirm the version you want, since the original has your sentence at 50 years old instead of 70.
